PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Term 2 is quite a challenging one, with the weather being colder and days shorter. I have been impressed with the way all students have returned to school from a term break. While walking around, it is pleasing to see students settled and engaged in their learning. As the weather starts to get colder, I wish to remind students and families that hoodies, tights, black track pants and non-Exeter High School track pants are not part of the school uniform and should not be worn. If families need assistance with uniforms, please contact the school.
We are excited to share some wonderful updates from our school community as we progress through the term. We are pleased to report that the redevelopment of our school facilities is on track! The team has been working diligently, and we anticipate that the new facilities will be ready for use by September. These improvements will not only enhance the learning environment but also provide our students with the resources they need to thrive. We can't wait to showcase the new spaces to everyone!
Recently, we underwent an external school review, and we received some fantastic feedback. Here are the key findings:
- Students expressed feeling safe while at school, which is a top priority for us. They also highlighted that there’s a significant adult presence they can turn to for support, ensuring they feel cared for and heard.
- Our curriculum processes were noted as being tight and effective, allowing for a structured and enriching learning experience for every student.
The review also highlighted how calm and orderly our school is, creating an atmosphere conducive to learning and growth. We are proud to report that staff morale is high and that students shared their appreciation for the strong relationships they have with their teachers. We thank all of our students, staff, and families for their hard work and dedication that contribute to these achievements. Together, we are building a vibrant school community where every child can succeed.
As I have highlighted in previous newsletters, school attendance every day is vital for students to succeed. If your child is away for any reason, please notify the school office so that we can adjust attendance records accordingly. Also, if you are having difficulty getting your child to school for any reason, please contact the school to discuss ways in which we as a school can provide support to you.
